Excellent page! My husband asked me to send him the link because he is going to be teaching elementary school teachers this summer how to teach earth science and thinks this is great because it demonstrates real life application of the P-waves and S-waves.

Glad that the link could be helpful.

I recall a science program that focused on quake detection systems and how they discovered the difference between P and S waves, and what that could mean for detection and alert systems.

Looking for the science program, but found this one - and it could be useful for grade school too:

$80 million more in wasteful government spending?

tsk tsk.

I mean, we clearly don’t need a tsunami warning system in place; what makes you think earthquake warning is more important?

You know we have to keep money back to fund all those really important things, like subsidies to wealthy farmers.
